Higher Apprenticeships

Getting qualified. Whether it’s a degree or professional status, it’s a huge achievement that can completely change your prospects – but it’s not always open to everyone. Some of us can’t afford it. For others, the timing just wasn’t right. But with our Higher Apprenticeship, all you need is at least 80 UCAS points (or predicted) from 2017 onwards; or 200 UCAS points pre-2017, or a year’s work experience, and we can help you earn as you learn – gaining a university-level or professional qualification that kickstarts your momentum.

Is this right for you?

To be eligible for our Higher Apprenticeship scheme, you need to have either 80 UCAS points (or predicted) from 2017 onwards; or 200 UCAS points pre-2017; or a year’s work experience. If you’re not sure about your UCAS points, you can check that here. Don’t worry though – if you don’t have any of those, our Foundation Apprenticeship doesn’t have any qualification requirements at all.

Craig, Group Finance

Before coming to Barclays I had some preconceptions about being in a corporate environment but it’s been completely different to what I’ve imagined. You meet so many different people, you learn so many different skills and you can be yourself.

One of my proudest achievements at Barclays was designing and building fraud training for Barclays colleagues. This training has now been launched successfully across Barclays globally. I’m really proud to have worked on this project because I’ve educated thousands of colleagues across Barclays to protect their customers and clients.

Barclays supports me with my study and work by providing me with a dedicated mentor and coach, who will help me with anything that I may need. I also get dedicated study days, where I’m able to go and work on whatever it is that I need to do outside of my day-to-day job.

I’ve learnt so many skills since starting the Higher Apprenticeship programme – from improving my time management skills, which was done by balancing my full-time job alongside my university degree, as well as learning how to lead people and get the best possible results and get the best that we can out of them.
