We all gathered around the board room table, as though we were the next CEOs of Barclays.

The 12 Barclays Degree Ambassadors had travelled across the country to meet up in London for their first quarterly meeting to review our roles as representatives, and discuss our future agendas and plans for the programme.

Coffees and note books across the table, we began to discuss our 3 main agendas - increasing the awareness of the programme; ensuring the new trainees are fully settled in; and organising a big fundraising event to raise money for a chosen charity, which is yet to be decided. Lots of ideas were thrown around the room, producing some really insightful thought streams. The meeting was really successful, not to mention our Programme Manager treated us to pizza for lunch! We are also hoping to increase our presence on the social media scene - so watch this space!

As well as this, over the weekend I had the privilege of attending the Loomba Foundation's annual fundraising banquet with Barclays at the prestigious Guildhall in central London, which aims to support widows and their children around the world.

I had never been to such a beautiful venue, seen so many beautiful ball gowns, or tasted more delicious foods! There was a live auction which raised tens of thousands of pounds for the cause, which was fantastic to see and be part of. I was sitting only a few seats away from Ashok Vaswani, CEO UK Retail and Business Banking, as well as Rt. Hon. Nick Clegg MP and former first lady Cherie Blair - not many 19 year olds can say that!
