As a graduate in Wealth Business Management, I am involved in many projects across multiple teams. Following the split of our Wealth business, I keep track of business meetings as part of our ongoing review of organisational governance. And liaising with team heads means I get to see how different teams work together to deliver innovative investment products. In the meantime, I also help the Barclays Investment Solutions business manager with different presentations that showcase our teams and performance to senior stakeholders. In fact, I’m lucky enough to have been involved in various management meetings that discuss our medium-term strategies and plans.
In the afternoon, our investment strategy team interview a leading UK economist. Such events are a unique opportunity to question thought leaders on market trends. Attending these interviews reminds me of my time at university! I catch up with another graduate over lunch. We both feel very lucky to be able to rotate between different teams, learning various aspects of the business and acquiring diverse skill sets. As a graduate I try to bring a fresh perspective to our existing processes, streamlining them to improve efficiency.
Twice a week, I grab coffee with members of other teams. Barclays is full of female talent and talking to senior female leaders about their ambition and determination always fills me with inspiration.
