Hi! My name is Summer and I’m currently interning within the HR Location Strategy team. I am currently studying Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick and am due to enter my 3rd year this October.
All this week I'll be giving you a little insight into one week as an intern at Barclays.
Let's start with Monday:
9:00: It is always good to start the day with a good breakfast and coffee so I head down to Level 3 with my fellow intern Jason so we can start our day right!
9:30: When I am back at my desk I catch up on emails and make my to-do list for the day, to ensure I stay on top of my tasks.
11:00: I have a meeting with Chris from the Propositions team for UK Insurance.
FUN FACT: Chris was on the HR Graduate Scheme when he started at Barclays!
13:00: I have a catch up with my manager to chat about the support I can provide the team over the forthcoming week- it is really important to have regular updates with your manager to track your objectives, your personal development and ensure management of their expectations.
15:00: I have a dial in call with my colleague Izzy who is based in the New York offices. We discuss her insight and opinions on content I shall be inputting into an upcoming Location Strategy Hot Spot call.
TOP TIP: Do not be afraid to lot of questions and gain second opinions on projects you may be working on.
