To raise money, we organised a relay bicycle race (on static
bikes) between interns based in our London and Glasgow offices, with the goal
to reach the mid-point between the two locations. More than 70 interns and employees
cycled for 10 hours and covered a distance of 200 miles. We also hosted a doughnut
bake sale in the London offices, and sold more than 30 dozens to Barclays
With the support of our fellow interns and colleagues, we managed to raise more than £900 for Julia’s House Hospice. This amount was then matched by Barclays, meaning that our overall donation came in at just under £2,000!
We are delighted with the amount raised and would like to thank everyone who supported us to make this happen. Alongside our 5 Million Young Futures commitment, Barclays has a fantastic Community Investment programme that encourages employees to get involved in the causes we care about. It’s about giving back our skills, time and energy to support our local communities – so we’re thrilled to have raised the money.
